Strong hold hair products
Strong hold is the most requested styling property and the easiest to get wrong, because the strongest products often bring a finish you didn't ask for.
Firm gel
The highest hold available, with a set finish and usually some shine. Ideal for sharply defined styles, less ideal if you want to touch your hair afterwards.
Clay and firm wax
Slightly lower hold than gel, but they keep hair pliable and matte. For most people this is the sweet spot between control and a natural look.
Hairspray as a finisher
A flexible spray over a wax or clay adds staying power without changing the finish much — often more effective than reaching for a stronger base product.
